These are good examples of work on a large scale. I think they work well closer together when the images are simple and very similar colours, like the landscape photos, but i don’t think it would always work well for other works. I like the spaced out work, but I know this won’t be possible for the collective vision exhibition as the space is to incorporate work from all different photographers. It would work nicely if you had the whole room to exhibit one project. I also like this style of filling the whole frame, with the frame being very thin and in a neutral colour.

At Anne Neilson Fine Art Gallery, we extend this mission by donating a portion of art sales to support local, national and international organizations. Our hope is to be a lighthouse in our community by giving back through art.

The new cool, black building clearly states its presence between the eclectic bars and warehouses of St John Street, and has an enticing street entrance with views deep into the plan.

Our collaborative work with Mosa features a simple ground floor showroom with flowing spaces, and neutral colours and materials, to create a clean backdrop against which the tiles of the Mosa Collection shine.

As part of this project we also designed the two top floors of new offices for the building’s owners, the Grant Family; comfortable spaces to reflect their informal approach to property development in the local area.

La mostra Il Grand Tour. Álvaro Siza in Italia 1976-2016, in corso all’Accademia, fa vedere proprio quanto sia profondo questo dialogo. Il percorso espositivo nelle sale di Palazzo Carpegna prosegue con La misura dell’Occidente, in cui lo strumento conoscitivo di Siza, lo schizzo, viene messo a confronto con l’obiettivo di uno dei grandi fotografi che hanno condiviso con lui lo sguardo, il viaggio e la luce: Giovanni Chiaramonte. Non è la meta ma l’orizzonte lo scopo del viaggio, l’arricchimento e il compromesso con il luogo e con l’atto stesso del “nomadismo” mosso da una curiosità inesauribile che ha portato i due protagonisti dall’Europa agli Stati Uniti, dalla Colombia alla Cina, Brasile, Perù, Cuba: l’importanza del punto di vista e una rappresentazione del paesaggio ben lontana dalla stasi acritica che permea il soggetto e l’osservatore.

A seguire le immagini dell’Ikea Museum, progettato in collaborazione con Wilkinson Eyre Architects e Ulas Arkitekter. Parliamo di un luogo che segna un nuovo punto di arrivo nella definizione dell’identity Ikea, in ottica di restituzione alla collettività, tra racconto artistico e branded content.

Although critically lauded within the studio-craft movement, many ceramic pieces are only now coming to be recognized as important and integral contributions to the broader history of modern and contemporary art, note the exhibit organizers. The Yale show juxtaposes objects from the Schlenger collection with celebrated paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from the gallery’s permanent collection in order to highlight the formal, historical, and theoretical affinities among the works on view.

The effort to integrate ceramics more fully into the history of art is the result of recent shifts in approaches to both making and exhibiting artworks, explains doctoral student Sequoia Miller, a graduate research assistant in the Department of American Decorative Arts and co-curator of the exhibition.

In the last decade, ceramics have become commonplace in contemporary art, and ceramic artists such as John Mason, Kenneth Price, and Peter Voulkos have gained renown among wide public audiences. These developments have grown out of a larger dissolution of boundaries and hierarchies in the visual arts, where artists bear less allegiance to any particular historical medium or tradition, opting instead to use whatever materials best suit their ideas at a given moment, explains Miller. Museums have followed this lead by beginning to incorporate a wider range of artworks and disciplines into both permanent-collection installations and special exhibitions.
